Job Description

Our client in Taylor, TX is a manufacturer of laboratory grade table tops and sinks.

Several positions may be available: Sanders, Packers, Bucket Support, Pouring, Oven Operators, Extractor Operators, Graders, etc.

1st Shift (5:30 am - 2:00 pm), 2nd Shift (1:00 pm - 9:00 pm), and 3rd Shift (9:00 pm - 5:30 am)

Overview of positions:
Bucket Support
  • Extract heated mix from mix tank into a pour barrel by weight and add additional components as required
  • Draw pigment and master batch from R&D area
  • Pour heated mix into slab and sink aluminum molds using overhead hoist
  • Extract cast sink parts from aluminum molds (sink department only)
  • Assure molds are free of contaminants
  • Operate Gel Oven for heated mixture insertion
  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs
  • Assemble, final sand, paint and polish finished piece parts
  • Accurately measure and finish tops with correct size bevel, square, radius or other edge finish as stated on the job ticket.
  • Repair chipped or broken corners as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
  • Pack and label all piece parts in accordance with requirements on piece ticket
  • Select the correct packing materials such as skids, paper, corner boards, license plate
  • Inspect each piece for dimension and visual quality before packing
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Extractor & Anver Lift
  • Extraction of epoxy-resin slabs from cure ovens using extractor hoist Wipe down cured slabs with TABC thinner for removal of mold release
  • Stacks graded epoxy slabs in correct locations using an Anver lift
  • Performs daily safety checklists of designated equipment
  • Stocks material such as paper, thinner, and plywood for process use
  • Empty thinner rag containers in designated barrels
  • Identify defects in epoxy-resin slabs
  • Keep work area clean and free of hazards
Grader Data Entry
  • Performs gloss and/or color readings using a colorimeter
  • Basic Knowledge of the IPAD data collection tablet
  • Log all required information into Casting Data base
  • Apply material identification stickers to every slab
  • Use calibrated measuring devices to check material thickness and warpage
  • Other duties as assigned to meet business needs

  • Ability to demonstrate comprehension of positional work instructions
  • Capable of becoming forklift certified
  • Able to work overtime including weekends
  • Capable of operating Anver lifts

Education and Training Experience:
  • High school education or equivalent
  • 3 months experience working a manufacturing environment preferred

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to perform mechanically assisted pushing/pulling of 500 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, reach overhead repetitively during a 10 to 12-hour day
  • Able to stand for minimum of 10-12 hours
  • Ability to lift minimum of 50 lbs. frequently
  • Able to work overtime including weekends
  • Ability to demonstrate comprehension of positional work instructions

This is a temp to hire position.
